Gouthami was one of the most popular heroines in South Indian films. Actress tall, thin and beautiful was an excellent dancer.

Gouthami, born Gouthami Tadimalla is a popular Indian actress. She has acted in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi films. Her first film was Dayamayudu, a film based on the life of Jesus Christ.

She was studying engineering in Vizag Electronics when the first offer her movie. It was introduced to Tamil films through Guru Shishyan, a superhit movie co-starring Rajni Kanth.

It was the top No. 1 heroine in Tamil cinema from the 80 who died in the mid 90's with almost all top heroes of Tamil film industry and also a member of the other heroines of the time, Kushboo and Banupriya act.

Its role in the film Thevar Magan was well received by the public.

It also has achieved a critical acclaim for her role in "Iruvar" Mani Ratnam's (1997), Aishwarya Rai, Prakash Rai, Mohan Lal Tabu, Nasser and Revathy on top.

She also acted in Kannada films Elu Suttina pasterns, and Chikkejamana Cheluva. She has acted in Hindi movies, Pyar Hua chori chori, Janata ki Adal, Haiwan, nistrasie, Appoo Raja, Trimurti and Dhaal. For this, she made several films in Malayalam, notably His Highness Abdulla, a Mohanlal starrer, and Dhruvam, a Mammootty starrer.

She has acted in Tamil serial "Indira" in the title role of Indira. She also danced in the famous song "Chikku Bukku Railu 'with Prabhu Deva in the movie Gentleman. She is doing a talk show on Sun TV anbudan title which was launched to compete with coffee with Anu run successfully on STAR Vijay.

She is married to Sandeep Bhatia on June 7, 1998 at Hotel Taj Coromandel in Chennai, whom she divorced in a year. She now lives with Kamal Hassan with her daughter alone. She had cancer, but do not close very well.
