Armies of IPL Awards, SRK and Karan ..

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and filmmaker Karan Johar will host the India Premier League (IPL) awards night to honor the best players and performances of the T20 tournament at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai on 23 April.


The evening, which was passed in May, will be a fusion of cricket and entertainment - called Cricketainment - with some of the greatest artists of India - including AR Rahman Oscar winner, Shilpa Shetty, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik Roshan - set to perform.

"This star-studded ceremony for the award to see the superstars of Bollywood and cricket come together to make the Oscars the world of cricket. Celebrating the spirit of sport, the viewer will find the color treatment and IPL champions to get congratulated on his performance through the series, "said Ashvini Yardi, programming head, the colors.

"It will be one of its kind and fitting celebration with a host of brilliant performances and exciting surprises at the conclusion of the IPL action this year," Yardi said in a press release.
Prizes will be awarded in 22 categories, including batting, bowling, fielding, the smartest player, best stadium and commentator etc.

There are also categories such as IPL Jury Awards, viewers' Choice Awards, Awards of Statistics, Captain IPL IPL Awards and Award Winners.

The Critics' Choice Awards will be judged by the IPL Awards Jury, composed by Lalit Modi, cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar, Brian Lara and Javagal Srinath, umpire Simon Taufel known, and cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle.
